Hydraulic Reservoirs designed by OMA can be vented or bootstrap type, according to the specific application.

Reservoirs can be equipped with electrical sensors for fluid level, temperature and pressure measurements. Overboard automatic/manual relief valves, bleed valves, filter modules can be also integrated when required.

OMA competencies are specifically focused on bootstrap architectures which are commonly used on more advanced platforms. Such types of reservoirs are comprised of a double-stage piston system whose high-pressure portion is connected to the system supply pressure, and the low-pressure one is connected to the pump suction and the return port of the Hydraulic Power System.

Bootstrap reservoirs contain the amount of fluid the system needs to supply the primary and secondary flight controls and utility systems of the Aircraft and to compensate the system leakage allowance. They also have adequate capacity to accommodate the thermal expansion of the fluid within the circuit.
