The accumulators designed at OMA are mostly piston-type and can be equipped with electric or visual pressure indicators to allow a direct check of the gas pre-charge. The accumulator barrel is usually made from high resistance stainless steel to withstand the most demanding load conditions.

The floating piston, made of aluminium alloy, is provided with a dynamic seal separating oil and gas chambers. A guide, made from PTFE, is fitted on the piston to avoid metal-to-metal contact between the piston and barrel.

The head, made from aluminium alloy, plugs the oil chamber and is retained on the barrel by a ring wire engaging into a dedicated groove integrated into the barrel.
